Shaping a dog's future

The first 12 weeks can make a big difference in a dog. Purposeful training during this time can make a lasting impact on their life.

Early Neurological Stimulation

Research has shown that early neurological stimulation exercises done within a certain time creates positive lasting effects and gives the dog a superior advantage. Dogs who have been exposed to these exercises have shown to have 5 benefits: improved heart rate, stronger heart beats, stronger adrenal glands, more tolerance to stress, and greater resistance to disease. Puppies who did these exercises were more active and explored more than those who did not. You can find more information about Early Neurological Stimulation at this website:

On days 3-16 of the puppy's life we take each puppy individually and carefully perform 5 exercises, once per day. These exercises include tactile stimulation, head held erect, head pointed down, supine position, and thermal stimulation. This is a proven method for creating well developed puppies.

Socialization

We work hard to produce puppies that will become amazing dogs. Part of that is knowing the first 12-16 weeks of a puppy's life can impact a dog for years to come. We strive to give our puppies something new each day to help their minds grow and socialize them so they are less likely to be fearful adult dogs. We have them listen daily to a soundtrack of noises that often frighten adult dogs such as fireworks, thunder, cars backfiring, babies crying, emergency sirens etc. so they become desensitized to these noises. We change their toys, take them out of their puppy area for playtime with large, soft blocks, tunnels and balls. We safely take them on outings to car washes, on short hikes, to the stores, and anywhere else we can take them. They meet new people and experience new smells as their brains are in critical stages of development. We prepare them for clicker training by doing pre-training activities where they learn to look at us and sit for treats. This primes them to be easily trained when they go their new homes.

Examples of Past Puppy Experiences

Our puppies receive lots of attention from our large family and friends. They also interact with at least 4 other dogs who live in our house with them. Our energetic home allows for unique socialization that greatly benefits our adorable puppies, establishing a great start to their life.
